January 30 a new yearThis year is about to take off, lots of stuff happening. the mains being a youth leader and the automotive pre apprenticeship course. lots has happened since i last wrote an entry so here it is
I bought twin carburettors for my car the siggy last month and my dad and i tried to put them on on the weekend but the fuel pump was in the way so their not going on, so that kinda got me down, but its not the end of the world, i'm sure i'll find something else to do with it and sell them, if anyone is interested in these twin solex carbies, im' giong to sell them for about $250 with the manifold. Anyway all the aside i worked on my car today and fixed a leak in the radiator hose which im' proud of. I also saw some old school friends from Christian communitiy which was different aswell.
I've been reading a really good book which my bestfriend Karin gave to me "no compromise" about a singer in the 70's called Keith Green. Its really interesting because he and his partner are on a constant search for meaning to life and they try all this differnent stuff, mainly drugs and eastern religions, but then finally start getting into Christianity, they eventually become Christians but their search for Christianity is deressing, they have a whole in their eart which nothing can fill but God. This is how we were made, our true happiness is found in God, we are completed when that space is filled, that space that wonders what is life after death? how was this all made?, why am i here? Is there really a God? Yes there is, there is a God and He loves us so much, He isn't distant, He is with us and if u believe and accept his son Jesus as your Lord and saviour then He will be with u aswell.
Its been great noticing how everything fitss together perfectly, everyday is planned, everything for a reason.
Psalm 139:16 "your eyes saw my unformed body, All the days ordained for me were written in your book before on of them came to be" He has our lives planned for each and everyone of us and if u believe then you can experience this amazing and awsum plan aswell. Thats it from me.
Dave January 16 something to think aboutHavn't done one of these for a while, but anyway heres an entry. The last couple of weeks have been ok, been working heaps and went down to Melbourne for a day, it gets so boring driving on a completly straight highway for three hours at the same speed, listening to music that you've heard over and over again, but thats the joy of driving on the Fume highway i guess.
Hung out with Karin today and saw Bec and Pauly and Ange, We got some gospel tracts, "two ways to live" and they are pretty good, now just gotta work out who can help us door knock and give them to people all around Nowra and how we're going to present them to everyone, its not as simple as just inviting the people to church its having a discussion with them and telling them the great and awsome slavation they can have in Jesus and only Jesus. . Finished anotyher book on a Chinese missionary aswell called "Bold as a Lamb" about the pastor Samual Lamb and his life, quite a life it is aswell, through all the troubles this guy has with the government and being sent to jail He is always faithful to God and trusting in Him even when things look like they can't get any worse. We need to trust God with all our hearts and not take our eyes of Jesus. A great example of this is in Matthew 14 where Jesus walks on the water, at first the disples on the boat think that Jesus is a ghosht in the stormy waters in the middle of the night, i would to!But Jesus imediatly says to them 14:27 "take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid", don't be afraid could that also mean not worrying bout our current troubles? to take courage and to put our trust in Him, it goes on, verse 28 Peter replies "Lord if its you, "tell me to come to you on the water". "Come" Jesus says. Peter gets out of the boat and into the stormy water and walks towards Jesus, v30 "But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord save me!". Immediatly Jesus reached out His hand and caught him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?", How relevant that passage is to us when we doubt in God's plan for us, we take our eyes onf Jesus getting lost in our own troubles and being to sink, however when we do and we cry out for help Jesus is there ans saves us. He is right there infront of us, yet it seems so easy to get swept up in our worldly troulbes, this passage has helped me lately, i hope it can help you. And for those of you who don't yet know Jesus Its definitly worth considering, because He is ALWAYS there and loves us so much we cannot comprehend us, lets never take our eyes off Jesus when things start to get bad, this is what helps us grow and build our faith, lets rejoice in our sufferings as Paul said.
anyway thats it from me, Dave December 26 CHRISTmasanother Christmas gone, this year has gone fast. Christmas was yesterday or how we should pronouce it, CHRISTmas, what would the world be like if Christmas was the other way round, focusing on the birth of Jesus rather than some imaginary character called santa that gives out presents to everyone. Maybe Christmas afternoon would be such a depressing time, you've opened all of your presents and all of the hipe is over. Butwe all seem to forget that these presents are merely gestures or olbigations. God's present to us is out of love and grace, did anyone give the best present to someone they didn't really like, someone that didn't treat u write, called u names, talked behing your back, always having a go at you and pushing u around, i didn't. The truly amazing this about God is that He doesn't hate this person, He loves them as much as He loves us, for He created everyone and everything and even when this world has turned its back on god and decided that it doesn't need God, God hasn't done that to us, turned His back on us, quite the opposite. We are sinners and dirty and destastble infront of Him but He's given us a way out, He gave us what no earthly person could give and that is Jesus. God's very own son who sits at His right hand God sent down from Heaven so that we may be pure infront of God, Jesus died for our sins so that we can have eternal life in heaven, He died so that we can have a perfect relationship with God. None of us deserve to go to heaven to be looked at by God to deserve to live after what we've done to Him and yet despite all of this He sent Jesus so that we can avoid His wrath so that we can have eternal life with Him after we die, How amazing is that! Thats what CHRISTmas is all about, God's gift to us
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5he[c] predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace 8that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. 9And he[d] made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.
Ephesians 1:3-10
Merry CHRISTmas everyone, lets never forget what God has done for us, amazing grace! December 21 another entryif memory serves me correctl it is CHRISTmass soon. Ah the times at Christmas, waking up to the sound of an anoying bell that is only used once a year to drag me out of bed. Why can't we all just sleep in? anyway enough of the complaining and more of the celebrating because we're celebrating the birth of Jesus. I was watching the simpsons tonight and it actuall made me smile. Homer had selvishly bought this $500 present for himself from the "uneccessary gifts" store which tells you who's birthday it is or famous persons birthday and at the end through all of the jokes and controversy it said and on this day "our Lord Jesus Christ was born", I hope this CHRISTmass everyone will remember that and not forget the true meaning of Christmas, which was God giving us the greatest gift of all, Jesus.
Today was good, I hung out with my good friend Karin and we went door knocking despite the 30+ heat. some people didn't really accept it and gave us the "no thankyou" response, but others were really good and seemed enthuisastic about it. at one house we created a queue outside some randoms door because we were waiting for the guy to answer and while we were waiting a random Australia post guy had to wait behind us. I bet the random guy must of felt pretty special, all of these randoms waiting to see him, just to get a glimpse, lol. Anyway it was a good day and i have to work tomorow! I can't wait, "i'm not being sarcastic" lol. ah. thats it for now. If your not a Christiana and read this entry then i'm realy glad cause the creator of this earth sent His only son to die for US!!! Isn't it strange how we so easily forget God and live our ignorant lives, oblivious to the fact the He is controlling them. God created this earth and everything in it and He loves us so so much and yet we live like " ants" Gavin Wilcox 2005 not realising or recognising our awsum creator, et despite this He sent Jesus so that we could have a perfect relationship with Him, how amaizing is that grace! We should be so thankful, so don't forget the true meaing of CHRISTmass, when God reached out and saved us. December 17 resultsi'm probably not going to uni so i don't really care about my UAI mark, i've learnt all i need to from school. I guess the best thing i learnt was in modern history about how corrupted the world is, ie America and how they have to be involved in some sort of war to keep they're strong military status. I don't like Maerica very much at all. Its strange that i leanrt allt he from an American teacher, how ironic!
my UAI was 59.25, pretty bad i know, but its alright, God's incontrol and my future for Him probably won't involve having to be overly smart, i hope not! Apart from all of that i havn't been doing a great deal, caught up with one of my old friends Simon when we, Karin, Micheal, Amanda and her boyfriend went out for dinner the other night. It was good to catch up with him and cruise around Culburra in his commodore, its got alot of power, I wish the Siggy had as much, hmm. Anyway on the 8th of January I'm catching up with a group of other Sigma owners and then we're heading down here, should be great, i can't wait. My boss at the servo was surpirsed when i told him "they're still around are they?", he thought he was funny, lol he was though. Thats about it for now. Just thinking about CHRISTmas coming up and that God sent Jesus for us to die for us so that we could be perfect in His sight through Jesus. Amazing Grace, December 10 WitnessingToday was great, i and other church members went out into Nowra and witnessed to many people, hopefully and prayerfully God will have mercy on them and save them. We sang carols in junction court which was cool even though i ate a fly in the process and spat it back out, that wasn't so good, but it happens. After that Karin and I went into the mall and gave out pamphlets, it was really good to do, to reach out to the Nowra community, some people welcomed the invitations to the church, others just seemed to of ignored us and kept walking and didn't take any interest, some guy thought i was cracking onto hs girlfriend and looked like he wanted to fight me.
It was strange, the toughest looking guys, eg this guy with a megalith shirt and biker like appearance was very welcoming and nice. Anyway it was a good day.
Another great thing that has happened is that my bestfriend Karin, is staying down here next year! God answered our prayers for you Karin, and its so great that you'l be hopefully enjoying this job, teaching little kids and giving them an education. Go Karin!
and in other news, i'm doing the "automotive" course next year through TAFE which will be excellent, get to work on cars every moday and wednesday. The class room is actually a workshop, i can't enter it without overalls the teacher said, which is pretty cool, anyway thats about it for now. December 06 The Siggy is fixed! We got her back going on the weekend which is great. I drove her once during the week just down the road and when it came to the weekend it had nothing left in the radiator, all had dripped out. But its good now, dad picked up a new water pump and shes runnin fine.
Kim:
The Sigma has abit more room under the hood, older cars are good in that their easier to fix and service, it doesn't require pulling off masses of protective stuff like in my moms falcon. It must be a real pain with the Colt, they are pretty small. Does it have a tendancy to "run on" after the engine is turned off? My brothers old Sigma always did that, his lancer does it and my sigma does it, I think its just a Mitsubishi thing.
Anyway, just sittin at home now, not sure what i'll get up to today, maybe the crickets on? or maybe work will call me, i doubt it. Anyway, thats all for now. TuesdayWhat a great day today was. Its good to just get out and do random stuff, not knowing what your going to do next. That was like today. We first entertained ourselves, Me, Karin, Benje, Bec and Micheal by paying a visit to the local McDonalds in Bomaderry. I wore a tansformer, Optimus prime face mask into the driver though and ordered 5 cones, one for me and Karin and the rest for Benje, Micheal and Bec behind us. It was quite funny, and its always good to do stuff out of the ordinary for fun. Next it was off to our friends Tim Craigs house just down the road where we filled up the bought water bombs from Woolies and loaded three water guns. To our demise, Micheal and Tim gave Karin the shotty gun which didn't shot properly and so when we found out that Tom wasn't home our whole operation backfired and Karin and I were completly soaked, what could we do? a shot water gun and i through the entire bucket of water bombs at Tim, narowly missing him. Anyway it was a great day as it wound down.
Something that has struck me however and has been on my mind, was that while we may plan to go oversees and spread the gospel to foreign countries which really do need it and i'm not disencouraging that because the people that do it are true diciples, ready to die for our Lord. But what about in our own communites. It seems to me that not very much of Nowra knows of God and if they do they've rejected Him. I pray that Karin's idea of reaching out to Nowra will become reality, its really important and would be so great to see. That is all November 26 The FutureNext year is getting closer and closer and i can't deny that i'm scard about it cause i am. I don't know whats going to happen. I know that a lot of my friends will leave Nowra, maybe even my closest ones. I'm scard most of all that those friendships will continue and not be broken. But God has a plan and just like on Karin's blog, I've gotta surrender my dreams, especially when the future looks so gray and hazy.
Gods always in control and that a great thought, nothing can stop His plans for they are set, nothing can stop God. If your a Christian then your putting your hopes on the Lord of Lords, the guy that created this complexed universe and life. He is all powerful and all wise. I do trust in Him.
apart from all of that, things have bin ok. The water pump on the Siggy (Sigma) broke today and it was really scary as when my dad and I just turned the engine over after the coolant had been replaced it started to idle at 2000rpm, much to fast as when its cold in the morning only does 1500rpm. The engine was going very fast and I could smell something burning so we turned it off and it kept running really rough even with the ignition in and then smoke bellowed out of the radiator, hopefully no damage has been done to the engine, at first we thought the engine had blown, but its just leaking from the water pump and so things aren't to bad to what they could have been. Thats prety anoying, now shes in the carport resting until we get a new water pump, shes very sick! My dads a good doctor! anyway thats about it, apart that Lowndes won the v8 race today and Brian Lara got 226 runs!, My favourite driver and my favourtie Cricketer! November 21 ah.. freedomthe reason why entry has not been posted for so long is due to the fact that i havn't used a computer for so long. the last week has been so great. Went to Geroa with friends, Benje, comrade Browne, Lucas and Micheal. it was a very good time away, so relaxing, did whatever we wanted whenver we wanted. it was really good. And today was just was just as great. Went to school to sign the leavers form and for some strange reason they think i'm missing a economics book! i did give it back. anyway got to have a great day with my very good friends and taunt Tom Browne with Karin, lol, good times, invovling water bombs and many different people including Pauly calling him up asking where to deliver his pizza's, lol. then we went out to Chinese at my new work and a fellow delivery driver served us but he was kinda rude cause of the swearing factor, didn't really apreaciate that, but the food and the company was good. After that we (Karin and I) travelled to Simons place with Lennon and saw some random neighbour ploughing his backyard with a home made plougher thingy attached to his car, quite funny. The day was great and things are good. Thanku God. I'm so thankfull for the great love he has for each of us I'm contuinually amazed by that its so cool, just like a real father, I'm so glad to know God and to know His love and care for not only me but everyone else in this corrupted world. Thanku God November 10 1 more day1 more day to go and then its all done, ah i can't wait. This week is probably the busiest week of my life, I don't have any spare time whatsoever, its pretty alright. Tomorow I finish my exam, economics, go for my green P's, hopefully will pass cause its $95, washin the car, hanging out with my good friends friday arvo till 10, getting up early the next morning to change the oil and coolant in the siggy. then hanging out Stevie, Scotty, Tommy, Simmy and myself on saturday and working saturday night delievering Chinese! getting up at 7 to work at the servo for 9 hours till five, then church and going to Geroa on Monday for four days...
pretty busy can u match it? Bible study was good last night even though it was so so hot, It was really interesting to analyse 1 John and understand why he was wrinting it and to who, very interesting. Gotta think about option for working for God aswell, all of these jobs are good to earn some money and then maybe bible college, who knows? But God, anyway beta do sum more study, I forgot how fun economics is! November 08 ah not long nowtomorow is business studies, some may ask, am i ready and i tel u, I don't know, as long as i finish it. I get to do my first shift alone at the servo on Sunday. I can't wait. 8 or 9 hours by myself serving the community much needed petroleum, and at the same time because it is so quiet on sundays I can watch the V8 race. Hopefully Lowndes can win! all that aside today is a great day, not because of studying which is rather boring but the atmosphere and the weather. I can't wait till its all over and then I can enjoy these days, with friends and the by just driving around with someone.
Its strange how people think that all of this was created by chance, by a "big bang", but God really does exist and all you have to do is look outside, everything and everyone is differenent in someway, is that by chance? It'd have to be a pretty big chance, no its from a creator. God made all of this and He is in control November 06 next yearnext year is coming on fast, and although i'm so happy that HSC is soon finished, everything else is all up in the air and I've gotta keep trusting God for help and guidance. Went to the selection weekend for the youthworks thing whichw as good, but tiring. It seems like a really hrad job, but if God wants me there then thats where I'll goe, because He'll sustain me. The epople there a really nice, some of the guys are so funny, the only thing i didn't like was the half an hour of sleep due to the fact that someone in our room was snoring al through the night and when that guy swapped he must of tagged someone else because i just couldn't get any sleep. Then we had to get up at 6:30 to go canoeing. Long days!
Last night was great at work. I found out my firned Luke was really interesting in talking about God and aspects of Christianity, He just searching for answers and said he'd copme to church which is great, I hope and pray He can be changed by God.
Today has been a little average though thats only cause I'm feeling really sorry for the West Indies who are suffering a very humiliating defeat by the Aussies. I just want them to win, so i decided to come down here and post this. Anyway thats enough for now. beta get going, Dave October 31 MondayToday is Monday, tomorow will be Tuesday, then Wednesday followed by Friday and well you get what I'm saying. I am addressing this issue because on the friday of next week, HSC will be no more. No more studying, no more teachers, no more homework, no more exams, no more worrying, and then there is nothing, only silence. While all of this will seem random to and to me, it hold no meaning exept that in less than two weeks HSC will be over.
I found a really cool pasage in Ecclesiastes
Ecclesiastes 3A Time for Everything1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, 6 a time to search and a time to give up, 7 a time to tear and a time to mend, 8 a time to love and a time to hate, 9 What does the worker gain from his toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on men. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. 13 That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him. October 29 AnythingI'm just going to talk about anything in this entry. HSC finishes in less than two weeks!!!! I cannot wait, modern history study is really good though, I just wish I didn't have to write for thre straight hours, why cant the exam be a big discussion about it, that'd be a lot easier, although sometimes is easier to explain in essays. I wonder whats going to happen next year, I havn't heard from the youthworks people yet :(, maybe it won't happen. I'm kinda scared but excited, my future is in God's hands and so thers really no need to worry about it, its great to know. Anyway thats all I can be botherd to write October 24 Handy Latin phrases "very funny"Non calor sed umor est qui nobis incommodat. It's not the heat, it's the humidity. October 23 Its been along timeIts been a long time since i posted a blog entry, there has been reason, things havn't been the best at all, but everything seems to be better now. started this morin'n with chrch and it was really good, Karin's bro Kristan delivered an excellent sermon, my hat goes off to u Kristan and in the arvo my dad fitted air horns to my car :) and my favourite driver Mr Craig Lowndes won the Indy 500 on the gold coast! beating Ben's favourite who came second, Mark Skaife. lol ha ha! Anyway, this last week hasn;t been all that bad I feel like through all of this crap I've grown a lot closer to God and that feels great! I'm starting to realise how awsum He is to send his onlly son to die for us when we sin against Him so so so much. Would you send your son to die and be tortured for someone who hated you? I wouldn't that why this salvation is so great, so undeserved, we are very very lucky and need to let everyone know. Like Karin's plan to go door nocking after HSC, good Idea Kaz! HSC is nearly over and I don't know what I'm going to do at the end of that final exam, probably get my P's and find some dirt to do a dedication burnout, I know everyone will be saying "Ah stupid p plater always being stupid, bah!" but oh well I don't care, we all have a child inside us. anyway that'l do for now, and maths is tomorow! thats great because then it will be gone forevr just like english ugh! This is Dave signing off
October 16 The Day before HSC,Today has been a good day, went to church in the morning for the first time, and it was good. The message was delivered really well by Keith, Hes such a great speaker, just brings so much energy to his sermons. And the assistant and the minister himself Reverend Wilcox, offered if I wanted to be a leader next year for the year 7-8 youth group, it'd be great. Teachin the gospel to smaller kids even if they can be a handful, it'l still be fun!. I wonder whats going to happen next year, very hopeful to get the Waterslea job and hopefully be able to keep the servo job aswell, it'd be a mean to just leave after they just finished training me and plus their really nice people. Done abit of study today, i'll do some more after this. The cricket has just been that intense, I'm serious! it looks as though the world 11 have a fighting chance at winning this test, hopefully they will and beat us! anyway HSC is tomorow, I'm not worried, it won't decide my future I just want to do the exams and forget about it, I don't care how long it takes for the results to come back, the longer the BETTER!! Anyway have a good day everyone I know I will try.

Hopefully Waterslea, that would be good, other than that I don't really have anythin lined up apart from a course at Wollongong Uni, So God my life is free for you to direct! I don't think these exams are really going to be all that bad, ever noticed that you seem to write an essay or two in an exam, but u can't do it at home. We know all of this stuff everyone, we did it in the trial, it hasn't changed, lets get in there and smash it on Monday, we'll be right and then it will be OVA!!!!! FOREVER!!! oh yeah. Then its time to catch up with everyone, I can't wait and plus do sum work and get some money to pay for stuff.
